Gwen, 9

At five-foot-one, 9-year-old Gwen has always stood taller than other kids her age. She embraces her height and was excited to step in front of the camera during her mom’s scheduled headshot session. Her impromptu Tween Esteem session was off and running.

“I remember my own transition from little girl to teenager challenged my self-esteem,” says mom, Amanda. “I really wanted to capture Gwen’s confidence and spirit at this age so she always has it to look back on.”

Gwen, who loves nature and animals, can often be found catching fish, reptiles, and bugs. While she had never considered modeling, she was drawn to the elaborate costumes in the studio and enjoyed posing under the flashing lights while her proud mom looked on. 

“My daughter is a force,” says Amanda. “We display these images to remind her of that power and to carry it with her whether she becomes a model, an athlete, or a zoologist.”
